Altogether this is a fine collection of boy stories. The stories are really âtopsâ as any present-day boy reading them is most likely to agree. The present volume is a selection of some of the well-written fiction that delighted many a boy of an earlier age. Bronson is a well-known writer of science for children. A good deal of science is woven into the story. His adventure-this journey-is the basis of the main part of the story. Pinto learns about the mine and just before Christmas sets off with his burro Ambrosio to get turquoise for his grandfather. The grandfather knew a secret mine where, had he been aable, he could mine turquoise. The Great War came and the source of turquoise dwindled to nothing. The grandfather made most of the living, making beautiful jewelry from silver and turquoise. Pinto Goodluck is a Pueblo Indian boy living in an adobe home in New Mexico with his mother and grandfather. They will thoroughly enjoy Pintoâs Journey. The story is well told and will appeal to most boys. The discovery of uranium deposits finally helps Steve to realize his dream.
